From May 18th to 19th, the founding ceremony and the first academic seminar of the New Energy System Infrastructure Research Institute of Tongji University were held at the School of Civil Engineering of Tongji University in Shanghai. The School of Civil Engineering at Tongji University was founded in 1914 and has a history of one hundred years. In 2007, the first level discipline of civil engineering was selected as a national key discipline, making it the only first level national key discipline in China with four second level national key disciplines; In the evaluation of the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education in 2009 and 2012, the overall level of civil engineering discipline ranked first in China. In the latest round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education in 2016, it was ranked A+. In 2011, the School of Civil Engineering at Tongji University was selected as one of the 17 national pilot colleges, making it the only national pilot college in the field of civil engineering; In the 2017-2023 ARWU Soft Science discipline ranking, the Civil Engineering Department of Tongji University ranked first globally; Starting from 2021, the US News discipline ranks first in the world. By 2022, the College of Civil Engineering has 8 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the CAE Member, and 2 foreign academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; There are 369 faculty members, 2033 undergraduate students, 1433 master's students, and 734 doctoral students. The School of Civil Engineering has the National Key Laboratory of Civil Engineering Disaster Prevention, the Key Laboratory of Geotechnical and Underground Engineering of the Ministry of Education, the Key Laboratory of Engineering Structure Performance Evolution and Control of the Ministry of Education, and the International Cooperation Joint Laboratory of Earthquake Engineering, with good testing conditions and equipment.
